Everyone likes a scarecrow with their fall décor.  This DIY mesh scarecrow is light weight and perfect for inside or outside.

Things you will need:

Work Wreath

Roll of 21" Burlap Mesh

Roll of 4" Burlap Ribbon

Roll of 2 1/2' Ribbon

Pipe Cleaners

Floral Wire

Scarecrow Head, Arms and Legs (Found in many craft stores)

First attach 2 pipe cleaners across the middle of the work wreath.

Now attach the mesh as usual.  Gather the end and secure it to the inside ring of the work wreath using the  sprigs.  Gather the mesh approximately every 12" and attach them as you work your way around the inside.  Then move to the outside ring and continue all the way around.

Now using floral wire, attach mesh to the pipe cleaners. Side to side and then in the middle.

That takes care of his belly.  Now the body parts are easy.  To attach the head simply insert the stick down through the mesh across the wreath frame.  Secure it to the frame with floral wire.  Hint: by wrapping tape around the stick and the pipe cleaner you can keep the head from turning.

The arms and legs have wire on the end which make securing them easy.  Thread the wire down to the frame and wrap it around the frame.

To add color, cut 12" strips of ribbon from both ribbon patterns.

Take 2 pieces of the 4" ribbon and 1 pieces of the 2 1/2" and pinch them together in the middle.

Place the ribbon trio in the sprigs and twist them tightly around the ribbon.  Add ribbons  around the middle of the wreath (the belly)

To properly dress this guy, craft a bowtie from the ribbon and attach it using your glue gun.
