Here is a burlap pumpkin wreath that is easy to make and just the right accent for those who prefer a more simple touch of fall décor. Follow along and see how quick it is to craft this DIY wreath.
Only a few supplies needed:
12" wire floral ring
3 rolls of orange burlap 5" wide
Small piece of tan burlap
A few leaves
Pipe cleaner
Floral Wire
You will notice the floral ring has 4 wires and 3 spaces. Starting on the outside, run the burlap up between the 1st and 2nd wires. Secure the end of the burlap by threading the floral wire through the burlap.
Now loop the burlap up in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd spaces. Once you have burlap loops in all 3 spaces, push the loops down. The cross wire on the floral ring will prevent the loops from moving.
Twist the burlap a couple of times and start back in the first space and loop the burlap in the 3 spaces. That is all there is to it. Just keep repeating the same step all the way around the floral ring. Just a few pointers, first keep the burlap loops pressed tightly together. Secondly, use floral wires to secure the ends of the burlap if you get to the end of a roll and have to start a new one.
Next let's add a stem. Take a piece of tan burlap and cut a strip approximately 15". Fold the strip in thirds. This will make it thicker. Now roll the folded burlap long ways. This is the ends opposite the fold..
Wrap floral wire around and through the burlap to keep it from unrolling.
Separate the orange burlap making a space for the stem. Use the floral wire to attach the stem to the back side of the floral ring.
Fluff the loops of burlap back in place. Add a drop of hot glue to the leaf stems and place them at the base of the burlap stem. I added a curly stem using a pipe cleaner
The perfect pumpkin just in time for Thanksgiving.
Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
