Flip Flop DIY Mesh Summer Wreath Tutorial

This colorful flip-flop inspired mesh summer wreath is a fun way to extend a warm welcome to all the friends who come knocking on your door this summer. This tutorial will show you a simple way to craft this DIY deco mesh flip-flop wreath.

To make this wreath, will need the following materials:

1 roll of orange deco mesh (21" wide)

1 roll of yellow deco mesh ( 11" wide)

1 roll 2 1/1" wide ribbon

2 rolls 1 1/2" wide ribbon ( different prints)

1 work wreath form

2 metal flip flops

a sign with a reference to flip-flops

The orange mesh goes on first. Gather the end of the orange mesh and secure it to the work wreath using the wire sprigs. The sprigs will twist easily around the mesh. Start on the inside ring of the work wreath.

Then move down the mesh about 12" and gather it again. Using the next sprigs on the work wreath, secure the mesh.

Continue this process around the inside and outside rings of the work wreath form. Your progress at this point should resemble the picture below.

Now to add the yellow mesh, first we should cut 18 pieces. Each piece shoule measure 12" long.

Roll the yellow mesh pieces and add one to each of the sprigs on the work wreath. There should be 18 sprigs, 8 on the inside ring and 10 on the outside ring.

Just like with the yellow mesh, cut 18 pieces of each rolls of ribbon. All ribbon pieces sohuld be 12".

Once the ribbon is cut, take 1 of each color and hold them toghether pinching the middle.

Add the 3 pieces to the wreath using the wire sprigs. The ribbon will lay on top of the yellow mesh. Add a set of ribbon to each sprig on the wreath.

The only thing left is to add the flip-flops and the sign. I attached these using my hot glue gun. For heavier signs, you may find it necessary to use both glue and floral wire.
